Celebrity Big Brother star Ella Rae Wise called off her seemingly perfect romance with TOWIE star Dan Edgar just a number of days before appearing on the ITV show - and Dan has been left completely blindsided by her comments in the house

TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise finally confirmed her relationship status on Celebrity Big Brother on Thursday night as she revealed that she has officially split from Dan Edgar. The reality TV star, 24, who has seemingly been flirty with housemate and former Love Island star Chris Hughes, 32, called it quits with Dan, 34, just one week before heading into lockdown ahead of her stint in the famous house.

Ella revealed that while her chemistry with Dan was undeniable, she wanted more from the relationship than just physical attraction. Dan had thought their split had been pretty friendly, up until he tuned into Big Brother this week where Ella dished the dirt on their breakup.

Following their fresh split, Ella has since confirmed that their split had nothing to do with the fact she was entering the Celebrity Big Brother house and more to do with the fact that Dan is "very set in his ways". The Essex beauty admitted that she needed more from a relationship, despite saying that she and Dan were best friends.

"We are not together. And it's really, really sad that we're not together. We split up a week ago. It has nothing to do with Big Brother. It was a decision that I had to make because I didn't feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other," she told The Sun.

"We can be best friends, but if something's missing, what are we wasting our time for? I just feel that he's very set in his ways and I can't change someone and I can't expect someone to change either.

"And if he's comfortable in how he is and if he thinks what he gives in a relationship is enough, that's okay because that can be enough for someone. But it's just not enough for me."

However, Dan's friends have claimed Ella's comments inside the house have come as a shock to the star. They confirmed the pair had split last Wednesday after a series of rows but insisted they would remain friends.

"They were still chatting after the big row on Wednesday as had both agreed it just wasn’t working," a source told the Sun. They explained Dan and Ella remained "amicable" and added: "They were just chatting as normal, the odd text and that, and spoke on Sunday just before she went into lockdown.

"But he was blindsided by the comments she made about being such a flirt last night, and how she flirted with everyone constantly, as that’s just not nice to hear."
