A Great Place For a Youth Pastor Retreat
Several years ago I stayed at a beautiful place in Bozeman, MT called Mountain Top Retreat. Mountain Top Retreat offers cabin style homes for you to rest in at reasonable rates. Can you believe that My wife and I could stay at one for only $25 a night! Sorry, but I guess that’s not the going rate anymore, but it’s still reasonable if you are willing to split the price with a few others.
Here’s a quote from their site:
At Mountain Top Retreat we don’t just provide a place to stay, but a home away from home. We have a total of five houses and a condo-style apartment available for our guests. We provide the bedding, the towels, the cooking utensils, plates, dish soap . . . just about anything you would have in your home. You bring your favorite foods and personal items.
All the information about them including rates can be found on their site. The website and the pictures on there don’t even come close to explaining how great it really was. I personally believe it would be a great place for your whole youth ministry leadership to go and have a place to enjoy God’s beauty and the they have a lodge where you could do some training with your staff.
Bozeman is a great place too. If you show up during the winter season, you got to check out skiing at Bridger Bowl. Here are the lift ticket prices:
| Adults | $43 |
| Adults 3 Day Pass | $38/day |
| Adults Half Day | $35 |
| Seniors (65-71) | $35 |
| Disabled | $35 |
| Child (6-12) | $15 |
| Snow Flake Lift | $5 |
| Seniors (72+) | FREE |
| Child (5 & under) | FREE |
The following picture and description of Bozeman is from the Bridger Bowl site (I couldn’t describe it any better):
Bridger Bowl is located only 20 minutes up Bridger Canyon from the exciting town of Bozeman. Bozeman is a young and active community and home to Montana State University. It is a tourist-oriented community and serves as a gateway to Yellowstone National Park, located about 90 miles from either the North or West entrance to the park. Ranked by Skiing Magazine as one of the top 10 ski towns in America, Bozeman is easily accessible by air with its major airport only 8 miles from town. Driving, it can be reached off of Interstate 90 in S.W. Montana, approximately 140 miles west of Billings, MT.
Walk through historic downtown Bozeman and visit locally owned art galleries, restaurants, movie theaters, and retail shops. Bozeman also offers many community events including art, music, theater, movies, dance, literary and cultural events. The night life consists of a variety of live music, sports pubs, dancing and local theatres. The Bozone, Bozeman’s local community newspaper, lists upcoming community events from live music to sports. Go to www.bozone.com to view a current schedule of events.
Bozeman is the place to be for that small town feeling with big city amenities. Whether you are young and single or married with kids, Bozeman is a real town with lots of fun things to do.
So if your feeling it’s time for a recharge then this would be an excellent spot for rest, refreshment, and time to spend with the Lord. Let me know if you would like any more information. And if you call Mountain Top Retreat, let them know that you got the information from this site.

I have stayed there a number of times, and I love it. Although, in full disclosure, my grandfather (Harold) is who started it. In fact, I helped with some of the construction. He’s passed on, but I can’t wait to stay there again. It doesn’t get much more peaceful than that.
