Clap Action

This game is a very fun and entertaining game to play with groups of any size.

Point: To get the person selected to do a desired action based on clapping.

How to Play: Select a student from the group and ask them to leave the room. When the student has left the room, the leader writes on a board or puts up on the screen the desired action that they want the student to do. To get the student to do the desired action the game is played like hot or cold only students clap more and more when the desired action is close to being done and when the student gets the desired action right the game is over and someone else can go try it.

It was fun to watch. The students wanted me to be the one to leave and then come back in to try and figure out what they wanted me to do based on their applause.

Give it a shot and let me know how it works.

Steve! I tried this Sunday night at youth group, dubious about whether or not it would work…and it was a huge success! The kids loved it. We came up with actions like “sucking your thumb” “taking off your shoes” and even tried a 3-person version where we wanted the three to hold hands in a circle and jump up and down. It took awhile, but every attempt was successful and made for good teamwork and many laughs. Thanks for the idea.
