Plants and Spiritual Growth

I really wasn’t sure on what to entitle this post, however, I think it will work. Currently I’m in Montana visiting my in-laws. I just recently helped my father-in-law water some trees and this idea came to me.

I thought it would be cool to plant something at the beginning of the school year and watch it grow every week that you gather together. The growth of the plant can be a visual spiritual reminder that we too need to be growing in Christ.

If you want to really have fun, you could have more than one plant planted and do some different variables with each one. For example you could have one that is normal, one that fertilizer has been added, one with little water, ect.

You could also parallel this to the parable of the sower, or just simply point to the plants each week as a fun visul reminder of where your students are at spiritually. You could have them acknowledge which plant best represents their current spiritual relationship with the Lord.
