March Madness

Even though March is right around the corner, you still have time to put together a 3 on 3 basketball tournament.

I did this at a previous church I was in and I got more response than I ever thought I would.

Since March is typically a big basketball month, use that to then make some connections you may not otherwise would have by holding your own 3 on 3 basketball tournament.

You can set this up any way you choose. I would suggest having two tournaments if you have the support. One for high school guys and another for high school girls.

The first one that put together was co-ed and the complaint that I got was the girls wanted their own because more guys showed up than girls to be on teams and there were some teams that didn’t have girls making it a bit unfair.

Promote the 3 on 3 in your paper and if possible in the high school. Schedule the activity after high school basketball is over with for more participation.

The great thing about this type of event again is to get some leads on some sports students that don’t go to church. You then have the opportunity to call them up and invite them to your youth meeting or invite them to another event that you have with the intention of loving them as Christ would.

Another idea with this is to have a 2 minute evangelism talk during the half time of the game.
